Typing slows down

Whenever I'm in game, or even on the boards, my letters take a longer time to appear than usual.  For instance, what is supposed to happen is that the letter appears as soon as you hit the key.  But, on random occasions, my screen gets like a "lag" of the letters, meaning that the letters take a few seconds to actually register on the screen.  Yet I don't experience any lag other than that.  Anyone know might cause this?

Do you have any processes running at higher than "normal" priority? 

At one point I thought I would be clever while playing AH and set its priority to "High" and found I could hardly type.  Kind of killed the keyboard in preference to AH.

Just a thought.

Otherwise, I would think there is something else hogging your resources.  If it's random and you have your anti-virus running it may be that "checking" stuff and prioritizing itself.
