Well I went and did it.....(eve-o)
« on: March 15, 2009, 01:42:00 AM »
I went and reinstalled Eve Online after being inactive for 5 years. Amazing my character was still there and intact.....except for the fact that when I undocked for the first time I was blown away by a dreadnought camping right outside the station and lost everything I had. Oh how I missed Eve.
I'm going back to the newbie grounds so I can relearn how to do everything but I'd love to link up with any AH-eve-ers that play as well.

Where the hell were you that a Dread was station camping?  Crazy man.  And why couldn't you get redocked before POP?  Dreads are not the fastest locking ships...

I am enjoying the new content from the latest expansion.  Other than the sound bugs, its been pretty solid.

Wormholes NPC (Sleepers) are tough!  Alot of interesting new battles...

I was in Ostello (I think thats the correct spelling) in Caldari space. It's 0.4 sec space and I undocked in a "Badger" Transport, the dread was just outside the station and opened fire and podded me before I even loaded the map. It's ok though, I'm back in 0.8 sec mining stuff to make ends meat.

My in game name is Jack Thorland, currently I'm apart of Deep Core Mining Inc. which is what the old corp I was apart of turned into....I guess anyway.

A Dread camping a .4 system.  Thats just sad...  Sorry you had to be on the receiving end of that....

If you are anywhere near Nonni, I run a corporation out of there.  We have several new members that are mining/missioning.  We would be glad to have you if you are interested.  I am "Terror DeBiaN" in game and my corp is "Lucid Space Discoveries".

I unsubbed the week after the missiles were made useless in the game.

and now i see the modular tech 3 ships. yet another add-on to the game that is accessible only to those with insane finances ... and used to clobber those below them.

i wont go back to it until they fix the missiles / stealth bomber and provide some balanced gameplay.

My main's a miner named Johann Rascali, but I'm combat training Caius Lafever. The main's about a month old and I just made the sub today, so don't expect much. :D Feel free to hook up.

Well, even then, there are some downsides to Tech 3 other than the monetary losses incurred. In any case, it's a big opportunity for small-timers to get their start. Heck, my second day of probing I found 5 W-Space wormholes. If I knew anybody, we could've ganged up and probably hauled back some good loot. :D

I think they did balance the game with the missile changes.  Missiles were over-powered compared to gunnery.  I use both missile ships and gunnery ships.  Both are pretty equal now in capability and both have their advantages/disadvantages.  With the proper skills, both are highly effective in both PvP and PvE combat.

The stealth bomber is a frigate class ship that can put some big smack down on a Battleship sized target, but dont expect it to be able to solo anywhere.  It was meant as a major DPS ship in a small/fast package.  It's paper thin and is in a world of hurt if any ship gets a lock on it in damage range.

I participate in PvP quite often in missile boats (Drakes and Caracals).  Both are Tech1 missile boats and I have no problems being able to successfully engage in combat.  I win some, I loose some.  But calling missiles "useless" is a massive over statement.
