t341943 Shine Problem
« on: March 16, 2009, 03:16:56 PM »
Salute all,

Need an opinion here.  I have been wanting to do a t34/76 skin for a while now, but the 85 took priority.  Well, Im ready to start the 76 now and have run into a problem.  The materials file we usually manipulate for sheen and such will not apply to this skin.  I just got off the phone with Superfly and verified there is no way to manipulate it.  So no matter what I do, she will still be shiny.  Not so much a problem from the side (attached.)  However, the 3d effects are taken away dramatically on the top portion due to the shine.

So, continue with the skin or leave it alone?  I hate not being able to dull her up some but hate the idea more of only having the default.  Attaching a pic of the t34/76 named "Girlfriend in Arms."  Btw, I have started the painting process to darken her up.  Not completed yet but you can see where I am going.

Thanks for any insight.

Are there any plans for HT to update the model in the near future?  If they were, then I would say wait.  Otherwise, go for it.

Heya wrongway,

I cant see them updating it as they updated the size of it when they created the t3485.  I cant imagine them revisiting it as it would have been a known issue at that point..IMO.

If they are not going to fix it I would say make shiny new t34's all round. What else can you do other than nothing. My two bob in.
