I play a dice game called Forko every Sunday with my Mom and her friend Don. We play to 10,000 points. Last Sunday I came within a whisker of getting skunked. Almost unheard of in this game and very humiliating. I sent Don and my Mom this movie.

Oh to get on you must score a minimum of 600 points. Don had 9900 points when I finally got on and he went out the next turn.

Also known as Greedy Dice or zilch or Tora, Most people call it greedy and everyone has their own rules. We play with 5 dice. Straights are worth 1500 pts, 5's are worth 50, 1's worth a 100, 3 of a kind are worth 100 times face value. That is three 4's would = 400. 5 of a kind is double normal value. 5 4's would be 800 points or 4* x 100 x 2. To get on and accept any score you have to get 600 pts. If you get. If you fail to score you Forko. I've heard of people of people counting full houses ie 3 of 1 number and 2 of another number. I've also heard of them having to score 750 points to get on. Not a lot of strategy but yet some. Mostly just raw nerves and much frustration. The games mostly goes quite fast. One oddity that we have is that if 5 of a kind are rolled that also happens to be 5 ones or 5 fives is that we double the total score. For 5's that would be 1200 points 3 5s = 500 and 2 fives = 100 for 600 and then doubled. Same for 1s.

We brag and we boast when we win. However, I'm not sure why since most is luck. Sure is fun though.

I never played it but, your post got me to thinking about when I used to play FARKLE. had alot of fun games with people just hanging out and playing for bragging rights

Goes faster than Yahtzee. Very similar though. No small straights and no set format to accomplish.

1=100
5=50
3 of a kind=face value x100
3 1's= 1000

Roll all 5 dice if you get a 1 you set it aside and roll the other 4 ect. till either you bank you total or you don't score on that roll.
 
If you use all 5 dice you can keep rolling and you must get 500 to start.  Once on the board you can stop with any amount you have gotten.  But Greedy seems to be a good name for it...I tend to get greedy to offen.

Pretty much the same game. We added the 5 of kind doubling the score. We've always used 600 points to start. We too can throw again with all 5 dice if the previous 5 have been used without failing (Forko) to score.
