AMD Tri core and Quad Core do not????? If they don't I would love to hear posts on that because AMD would be a money saver.... But what from what I've heard All AMD Multi threaded Processor's have the same problem with this game. The biggest problem with that too "from what I've heard"(don't know if true) Is that once you go from Duel to Tri or Quad then you can't use the Duel core OP and then you would be screwed. Yes you could do the work around in the REGEDT but It's still just getting the same result for more money..... Meaning not guaranteed to work! But If I'm wrong I would love to hear it because that would give me some hope for AMD!

I have an E8400 that I haven't OC'd yet.   I've never had a problem with playing AH from day one.   I do not see any gain by switching from Intel to AMD right now.   Someone can pull up the document of the "World Record Liquid Nitrogen cooled AMD chip", but in the real world Intel is where it is at.

i7's are in a class al by themselves and the Wolfdales are still great for gaming and OC'ing.

I agree that Intel is the best at the moment but I was thinking of a simpler and cheaper solution. I believe he started out with an amd. So all he would have to do is just buy the new chip and maybe a new PS.

I agree as well.  For a minimal investment, if you can use a new CPU from AMD and not have to change out motherboards, RAM, and/or video card, I would definately go for the better CPU option.  It is a cheap path to get more performance.

Well I will need a new Motherboard besides the point because of personal needs in a gaming system. I was planing on doing that anyway. I know I'm maybe just repeating you guys so I apologize for that but what your saying is ...... AMD Quad or TRI haven't been having issues or as many issues with this game???? I know this sounds like a basic and maybe stupid Question but let me tell you that While I can build a computer and have learned a great deal about them I am Still fairly new when it comes to these Decisions. I guess that's the reason I am asking so many Questions and repeating them. Because when I make this PC I plan to leave it alone and let it do its job with out interfering. I guess I am looking for the Path of least resistance when it comes to the CPU.
But from what I learned in the past year is the same thing about Intel. Right now they have the better Processor. I went with AMD originally because of Price and the Fact a buddy told me that when Gaming AMD is the way to go. This is probably true when It comes to almost every game out there. Except of course with my LUCK LOL this one the only Game I really play.
I trust the opinions of the People who play this game. So If your saying that higher end AMD are cool I'll consider them also... But I would still like to here more......

After thought....... I've done some studying on the Problem with Multi Core and this Game. I understand truly about 80% of whats going on with it. But while I realize its not the Game that is the problem its the processors. It almost seems that its a crap shoot wether the game will play or not. It seems like either you'll get a CPU that will work and have no problems or you won't. If someone could clear this up for me I would be very greatfull. Thank you

Here's what I have garnered over the last year 20m. AH is one of the few truly multi-threaded games. While some games claim to be multi-threaded they are not. Don't ask me for the technical reasons behind it. I sure don't know that. The Amd duo cores have the bug that has to be worked around to run the game. Hince you have the patches and registry fixes. The AMD quad cores do not have that bug. If your budget is around 1200 or maybe slightly less go with an intel E8400 or E8500. If not, you can merely drop a quad core in if your power supply will support it. If the the mother board needs to be updated then maybe Intel is the way to go. What is your Mother Board brand and model? I think it would be worth having a few of us take a look at it. Also post your power supply.

Here are my spec currently>>>>>>

MOB Gigabyte MA78gm-s2HP
AMD 5000+ duel core
Western Digital 500GB 7200RPM 16MB cache
Corsair 750watt PSU
Corsair XMS2 2x2048 4gig RAM 800Mghz
HIS ATI HD4850

Now I have recently down graded to this because my MOB did DIE. One day turned it on and the BIOS just up and went. That was also A gigbyte also. It was a GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard. The stuff I'm' running is all about 5 months old ( except the MOB now replaced it from old PC )My Specs before MOB died were as follows>>>>>>

MOB  GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P(died Refund)
AMD 5000+ Duel core (same)
Western Digital 500GB HDD 7200RPM 16MB cache (Different but same make)
Corsair 750watt PSU (same)
Corsair 2x2048 4gig Ram 800Mghz (same)
HIS ATI HD4850 duelx2 (same But now Just one)

Case I'm running then and now is an old RaidMAx Modded out with 7 fans
2x 120mm
4x 80mm fans
1x PCIslot 80mm fan
Plenty cooling.....

OS system then Was Windows XP pro SP3....... Now its a old Windows XP sp2(not so on the up and up if you get my drift) I have it now Just because I knew I was switching around parts and didn't want my New XP sp3's product key to go bad!!!
I have and do have the AMD duel core OP download on the set ups. As well as On SP2 I do have the Hot Fix! My only other thought is that Norton 360 2.0 is screwing with Aceshigh 2 when I play it. But I get same results on Offline as I do On line! Gotta BE CPU???!!!??

Well Here you go I hope this helps out:) Look it over let me know

Also forgot to add yes as a matter of fact i do have a budget of about 900 to 1200 $$$$$ But that could easily be spent to also upgrade to new AMD setup as well

If you want to lower the costs just go with the quad core. If you're buying new again I would recommend Intel. That system looks good to me other than the 5000+. Hopefully we will get a few more opinions here. I'm a litte unsure of the Corsair PS though.

edit: Norton is a resource hog. Avast or Nod may be better.

If you have to buy a new motherboard anyway go with Intel.  If you just want to get around your current problem upgrade the AMD CPU.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.
