« on: February 23, 2001, 06:14:00 PM »
Well now if we get night time then a whole new world of toys is now open for consideration....and after all it is good to want things
So what about search lights they could be AI controlled over bases or facilities, crewable on ships or AI controlled...food for thought......what do u all think?

good idea, a player could aim the lights, on a CV and the patriot missle flak could hone in on the reflection.

Are the lighting effects required even possible with the AH graphics engine?

Hehe, bad analogy - patriot missiles can't hit squat!

AH use to have only 1 light source (the sun) but the moon now serves as light source, so given that it may support two now. Or maybe HT coded it to serve as the new one, dunno. We'll find out during the first sunset when both are visable at the same time I guess.

I have noted that there seems to be some static lighting in the 202/205. Whenever you fire the guns on these planes, while in the normal 12 o'clock view the visable area of the wings lightens to muzzle flash. It doesn't show up externally or in any other view. Maybe something HT was messing with long ago and never took out.
