 Hey guys I'm just more curious about others view points on this more than anything. What about having a separate category for the support role? I personally believe that doing this would motivate more people to run supplies to GV's that are in trouble, and run supplies to repair damage Fields and strat. I'm not 1 to fly just for score all the time but I occasionally do it just for fun and I believe that the people that do it all the time would be less likely to do a resupply in a c47 because it would hurt their damage per sortie in bombing mode. Also running supplies to fellow GV's will only hurt kills per sortie or damage per sortie in vehicle mode.

 Support Category would cover: Base Captures
                                            Field and Stat resupplies
                                            GV support

 Please don't take this the wrong way I'm in no way a score junkie or am I complaining,I don't even fly much anymore. I just believe that for the people that do fight for that top position they will be less likely to neglect this portion of the sim and be more motivated to do it. I would have allot of fun in this role too. I'm interested to hear your view points.

Not sure how hard it would be to code without leaving it open to cheating, but I think its a great idea.  I know I sure appreciate someone dropping supplies to me when my tank has flipped because of that stupid little bush near me 

And it might give people some incentive to help in that role, while giving recognition to those that do it all the time.

Great idea, I do supply roles all the time and it would be nice to be recognized for it instead of having my vehicle rank lowered

+1 for the idea in terms of score tracking - but how would the perk points be handled? There would need to be some sort of perked support rides, otherwise there still may not be enough incentive...

Actually, capturing fields seems to have a disproportionately positive effect on your overall bomber rank. 

As far as resupply, it is purely voluntary.  The strats and porked field items will come back up on their own, eventually.  May be a loooong time, but they will come back. 

The reward to resupply is you get your base or strat repaired that much faster.

Thats right, resupplying isnt necessary, but why be punished for doing it? (lowers your ranking)

Actually if someone saves my hide, lets me land that 6 kill sortie in a wirble it would be worth paying perk points for.

Not sure how you'd keep it from being abused though.
But the idea has potential.

It all comes down to what it's worth to you to help a brother out.  If you're that worried about your "rank" then don't do it.

Either rank isn't so important or dieing isn't so important.  It's one of those dilemmas where you have to make a choice. 

You don't want to have to make a choice.  You want to have your cake and eat it too.

Where's the fun in that?

It all comes down to what it's worth to you to help a brother out.  If you're that worried about your "rank" then don't do it.

The point of this thread is to ask for it not to have to come down to that.  Its not that we are so worried about our rank, it just sucks that doing a necessary part of the game keeps you from ever being able to appear on the ranking list.  I'll continue to play the way I do and watch people who spend 2 hours in a tank win the GV ranking every month.
