I think the folks saying "What do you give the woman who has/can afford anything?" are right.  Gifts should be just that, a gift of something you hope they don't already have.

It might be nice for her to use when spending family time with some of the younger royal family.  How cool would it be if you sat with your queen and had fun with modern technology?

If it were me...a small (14" to 18") bronze statue honoring her father would be nice.

:salute Her Majesty and all her subjects.

Ya know.....I've half a mind to withhold further Wednesday Babes until the British people get an official apology from the White House (as a point of interest, you know why it's white don't you?  Cos some of my ancestors set fire to the damn place and some of yours hadda repaint it).

Write to your congressman people, the future of Wednesdays depend on it!

ok, ok, I'm not trolling, just a joke.  Here's hoping that the current administrations lack of respect for the long standing alliance and friendship between our two countries never spreads to the real world.  Or here.

P.S.  karaya, say "Scotch" and I'll send you my address.

Well, I'm not saying that the gifts were not thoughtless and seemed very off the cuff.  I'm just saying that it's not as big a deal as the media (on both sides of the pond) make it seem.  Remember that we're colonials, crass cowboys, with no reguard for protocol or the manners of the court.

Don't hold it against us man, many of us (myself included) love the Brits.

My favorite tv show right now is British, and I'm not talking about TopGear.

Things will improve as he grows into the job, I'm sure of it.  The dvds and models of AirForce2 and iPods will eventually be redressed, doubtless.

Over here 'they' are saying how thoughtful and considerate the gift was and how 'accepted' the Obamas here everywhere they go. If it makes you feel better I think he put more thought into that gift than he has anything he has done in the last two years but probably one of his yuppy aides came up with the idea for that!
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.
