Sagan's documentary is online for free.. See it now if you haven't, before it gets any older and its visual effects strain your suspension of disbelief too far.

Removed the link till someone can say it's legal.. Is Cosmos now public domain? There aren't any of the documentaries or TV shows/movies that would appear on a pirate website worth its salt.

edit - Only a couple of the parts are uploaded, so it's most likely not legit.  Oops.

You can also see "The Ascent of Man" on google video.  Jacob Brownowski's series was the inspiration for Sagan's Cosmos.

I believe a good number of the "Cosmos" episodes are on Hulu.com.

Ah, "The Ascent of Man", I rememer that one.  Haven't seen it in years.  I think I'll check it out.

Thanks for the headsup!

I've got the whole Cosmos series saved on my dvr.  They ran it on the Science Channel (I think it was)  a while back and I got every episode.  Loved Sagan, loved that series when I saw it as a kid and I still love it today.

I'll have to look for Ascent of Man.  Paleoanthropology is one of my areas of special interest and fascination.  I read everything I can get my hands on about it.

Good post!
