AVA 4/16/09-- Death to the Allied forces!
« on: April 17, 2009, 10:41:30 AM »
guadalcanal--

Last night the Axis struck with Fearsome attacks that devestated and demoralized the Allied pilots. the Axis with their superior pilots and aircaft struck quickly and at the the heart of the Allied fields.

Attacks on A41 were absolutely Furious with many 1V1 and a large furball at the same time. Bomber crew manned by Jaeger1, Larry and another pilot with angels10 to fly as escort allowed the Axis to strike terror at the Allieds and destroy the fighter hangers at 41.

Although it was called a draw we all know, the Axis was far superior in fighting and skills to the Allied side.

In round 2, the AXIS again set out to find the enemy carriers. Our Glorious pilots found their mark just south of 9. again the attacks were furious and swift. yamamoto and the emperor wouldve been proud of these great pilots. after many waves of attacks the carrier south of 9 succumbed to the great fighter power and strenghth of the rising Sun!

then the alert came in that a battle was ensuing just south of 10. the great imperial forces immediately responded in like to the savage, uncivilized attacks at 10. i was witness to some of these attacks, and again the great imperial forces, took hold of the situation and proceeded to come out triumphantly!!

thanks to all that played last night <S> to all that participated, it was fun, hopefully we'll see you again next week--

Kudos especially to Fudgums and Soda, who cooked up and implemented what turned out to be a very fun evening.

I was especially impressed by two things:

First, the level of conduct was excellent, new and old players alike.

Second, the setup oozed history.  The Slot terrain is familiar to people who have studied the battles, and the match of Zekes v. Wildcats rapidly pushes the players to duplicate the tactics that both sides ultimately adopted.

Good times.
