B-25 w/75mm?

I was told there was a B-25 made with a 75mm cannon. Is this true? If so it would make a great jabo plane.

Yeah, the B-25H!!!

When I flew WB and they first introduced it, that was the ULTIMATE NOE attack bomber. I would load it up with light bombs and use the cannon to lob shells (out of ack's range) and take out the ack, tower and put holes in the runway. It was so cool. Then use the bombs to take down the rest.

I have an AAR of a WB flight I can dig up about one of the flights I did in it.

They have one at the NEAM in Connecticut.

The 75mm gun is out and on a display on the floor below the pilots window. I know WB's has one and perhaps Pyro still has the info but if HTC needs pix I can easily get to the museum and take some pictures.

American planeset has every type of plane it needs: fighter, jabo, heavy bomber, medium/light bomber, goon.  Get what we need.  (and it ain't a 25H)

B-25G and B-25H both carried the 75 mm gun and were used extensively in the Pacific.  Over 1400 75 mm armed Mitchells were built.  Most definitely the finest anti-ship aircraft of WWII.

Info on the G here:   http://home.att.net/~jbaugher2/b25_13.html

Info on the H here:  http://home.att.net/~jbaugher2/b25_15.html

B-25 is a must for any WW2 flight sim.  I believe this bomber equipped every Allied air force including the forces-in-exile of European nations.  But there are a lot of other planes needed in the plane set that we'll probably see first.  It's a "must" though in the long term.  My personal choice would be the PBJ-1J in Navy blue with the "strafer nose" and 14 forward firing fifties.  Or else a bare-metal B-25J with red stars on the wings.     :D

I'm going to hijack threads for the Mossie and any Italian/Japanese planes with calls for the B-25G/H for spite!

The 75mm B25 was also used in the Mediteranean theatre - during the comnbat in Italy.
