Tildeath a solution to my problem
« on: April 15, 2009, 10:23:49 PM »
I have been in the game since the beta days. Since then I have built 4 computers
and their main purpose was playing AH.  I took a year off from the game but I am
now back.

After logging back in I quickly realized my PC was no longer meeting my
requirements for the game,  those being maximum eye candy with 0 lock ups and
max FR.

So my options were to see if I had any upgrading left out my system or go with a
total new build. Both of these did not appeal to me because I don't have the
time or patience for building computers anymore.   The big name computer
companies simply don't appeal to me.  I feel they are all overpriced and use low
cost components for gaming.

I searched the hardware forums and saw many positive posts from tildeath, I sent
him a message and we talked the next day.

I do have an advantage here that most players don't I found out tildeath also
lives in the burbs of Atlanta. He suggested I swing by his shop to see his
finished machines. So I stopped in on my way home from work.
He showed me one of the systems at the assembly stage and a completed one.
Tildeaths  "custom" part of a build really stood out to me. He mods his cases to
allow for "complete airflow" by routing all the cables behind the panels.
Besides the added cooling efficiency it also showcases all the components
glowing in a "saitek" blue hue.

Then I saw another computer at the burn in stage. Here tildeath explained to me
he tries to burn each build in for 12 to 24 hours running various benchmark
programs.

The quality and care I saw being placed on the builds convinced me to place an
order on the spot!

I had my custom built tildeath build a week after placing the order.  Notice I
keep saying" build"
saying "rig" just sounds cheap to me now.  I realize I had an advantage of no
shipping times but I would of waited longer after seeing what I was getting for
my money.

Tildeath preset my system with 3 overclocked settings the one I use puts my
E8400 @ 3.6ghz. At this setting the temps stay right at 43C while playing AH.
All my settings are pegged and the FR never goes below 59.  I am in the process
of loading all my programs.  I plan on eventually doing some very amateur video
editing, and what ever else. this system will play any game at max settings that
is available today.

Oh I forgot to mention tildeath answered any question I had over the phone in a
timely manner, no matter how stupid it was. this is a huge plus in my opinion,
and good luck getting this from the larger companies!  Having a resource that
plays the game regularly knowing what the game requires I am sold!

I would highly recommend tildeaths services to my friends in and out of aces
high.

Dittio.  Just talked to him yesterday about mine.  Suppose to be here next week.  The bummer is one day after it gets here I'm going out of town for up to two weeks.   :frown:

Uhhh John.... did you check out the space between the PSU and the back wall of the tower? If he ships your PC, the steak is frozen, and placed into the case....Or did you forget to check, and are now wondering what that odd smell is?? :rofl
