A thrown bone for us GV'ers in near future?
« on: April 22, 2009, 01:06:29 AM »
It just seems these days that a vast majority of Aces High players enjoy the Gv aspect of the game as much as the flying.  I was wondering/hoping we could get some information on if any work is being done.  I realize the new patch will probably be mostly graphics related, but many people dont have good enough systems to benefit.

Just wanted to  :salute you guys for the work already done, maybe just a refresher for some of the guys who love to GV.

P.S. The default skin for Tiger and Panzer is a great disadvantage because of the ability to turn enemy skins off.  Seems like an easy fix to change it to the great green skins we already have. :salute

They should make the terrain less "green".  The default German gv skin has been whined about over and over but it is what it is because that is how the Germans painted their tanks as a standard.

I wonder if the Germans lost more thanks IRL because they weren't green?   ;)

Hmmm.  At the same time that terrain looks awefully non-green, unlike the nice dark evergreen swathes we have in game.  Plus visibility is....  200 yrds?  Compared to 3k+ we have in game....

Maybe the graphics update will make tree trunks and under brush more tan than having everything the color of the pine needles, "fixing" the problem for us  :aok

I think the graphics update will make the ground war more different for the GVers more than any single new tank will. Anyway, the last new machine added to the game was the T34/85.

Well, keep in mind that we've had as many new GVs in the last year as we have had airframes and this is a flight combat game first and foremost.

IMO the new terrain is a bigger bone for the GVers than it is for the pile-its.
