CV Command lock out
« on: April 22, 2009, 03:02:07 PM »
Yesterday in the MA (Titanic Tuesday) CV 70 was locked on course and several rooks attempted to change it's course but were unable to take command. This promptly lead to it's demise and a chance at a possible base capture. Finally after it respawed at P-71 it took several minutes until I was able to Take Command. No Commander appeared under that task group and I was able to Command other groups at the time.

I've seen this on occasion and wonder if it's a glitch. My rank is in the 400's and I understand when higher ranks can override me.
I always wanted to fight an impossible battle against incredible odds.

It's a glitch.
Whenever somene is already in command of a TG when you enter the arena, his name doesn't appear on the list.
Must have been someone with a higher ranking than you. Quite possible he took command long ago and just forgot about it.
I was there, and when several players complained about that, I was able to take command of that TG (rank #8) and released it, but it was too late.

Last week we had a CV that we lost command of, it was on a course back to its port and any commands you gave it would originate from the port and not its location.  Lost the base cap and luckily someone sank it before it got too far out as it wouldve taken probably 2 hours to return to port.
We had no problems giving the CV commands, they just came from the wrong location.  And if you waited awhile before issuing another command you would see that the point of origin had changed as if an invisible CV group was following the path.
