I forgot to add some of that some of the Merlin engines built for the P40. Where built in the USA by Packard Automotive.

Actually, I believe all the Merlins used in P-40s as well as P-51s (except for the first one) were license-built Packard Merlins.

The 79th FG flew the Rolls Royce version in the African desert battles. The P-40F and the "L" models have the Rolls Royce merlin engine and yes these were faster and had a heavier bomb load capacity. The "L" model was a lengthen in the fuse lodge area.

Nice.  Thanks for sharing that info.  That is a great bit of historical data.  I hope to see the P40N-x with an option for 4 or 6 .50 cals and the 3/500lb bomb.  That and to have the P40E model corrected.
