Signed up to the other sim when it asked for a name I went with Stevex but felt like a bit of a knob when I saw others names.   When I moved here I thought I'd have me one of those hip names so went with Warlox...keeping the X and being trendy.  With a few short lived jobs my account was canceled so I came back with Lox....keeping the X again.  When I opened this account I wanted another name that ended with an X again.  Nothing to do with the X factor  :lol....so I'm sat there drinking a cold one mulling over what name to use ending in X.

Nothing to do with cats or helicopters....the name was in my hand as if by divine providence :aok

My normal online handle (imagitronics) was too long for AH. I was pretty sure I wouldn't even enjoy a game about WWII air combat, so I picked the first three-letter word that came out on the keyboard: "vic".

It wasn't until a few weeks later that I learned there was an actual relationship in air-to-air combat - The "vic formation."

info and pictures about vic formations:
http://www.duxford-wing.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=60&Itemid=86 and http://www.webshots.com/search?query=VIC-+Formation

Turned out to be a great name (IMO). It has relevance to air combat, it's short, it's easy to say, and easy to remember.

When I left flight school the callsign I was given was "Boots," because I was the only member of my class who was never hit on inspection for unshiny boots. I was Boots for most of my career.

During my first trip to Afghanistan, I flew a load of wounded Marines to a hospital ship. One of those Marines' mothers got her whole town together and wrote my CAG bunches of letters saying I was their unit's guardian angel. They made a little white flag with angel wings and a halo and hung it on the back of my chair in our squadron's ready room, and my name changed to "Angel Boots". After that, whenever a pilot on my boat flew critically wounded grunts to saftey the flag would get moved to their chair and they would become "Angel Whatever":

"Angel Hal"
"Angel Oak"
"Angel Ranger"
"Angel Sooner"
"Angel Mach"

etc. etc.

After the flag was on my chair a while, the "Boots" fell out of use and "Angel" stuck. We still passed the flag around, and they were still doing it when I left. When I got moved to a different boat for OIF-1 I went back to using just Boots.

Hunter is my middle name. I thought it sounded kind of badass. It didn't all fit in the game.

In warbirds 1997  , when I got some experience, I found out that hovering over own field helping out those who where chased back to own field was rather a lucruative way getting easy kills and also gave you a  reuptation saving those poor souls chased back :)

before 'save' (1996) I used the name 'kaka' (swedish for cookie).
