Ho'ing has become an art form
« on: May 02, 2009, 03:27:04 AM »
OMG, my squady and I went into the DA tonight to just work on a few things  :rofl, First time and last time I'll go in there. You can't work on any kind of skills because they come at you 2 and 3 at a time guns blazing. It's more about goose hunting then fighter tactics in there (fire into the group and hope something falls). They start firing at 2k out and hold the trigger until they run out of ammo and then run home for more bullets. Before I knew it there were 4 or 5 spit16's coming at me with there guns blazing, so whats the point of the DA again? Because as for as I could see that wasn't a duel, it was more of a beat down, I was sitting at my PC ducking from all the rounds passing over my head. I hope this isn't where the game is heading, because instead of going into the TA and learning the right way there going into the DA and from what I could see its a free for all. :(

Well, at least it keeps some of these knuckleheads out of MA.
If you want a decent fight in DA you'll have to ask for a duel... but then it's just that, a duel.

Tbh it would be nice to have a furball area more akin to the old DA where you could run into random players and planes who still adhered to certain unwritten rules (which should be written..)

The furball pit is not what should define the DA. If you wanted to work on your skills you should of just fought against each 1 v 1. You can't expect to find any kind duel in conditions that rival the worst MA play. DA is for ACM work, the thunderdome style death pit can be fun, but don't expect to learn anything other than how to deal with the horde.

Hope all you want it's happening. Just remember when you see one of those old timers that flew for the thrill of the fight hang up their hat they are going to be replaced by two or three ''halo/quake'' players. Those players only care about score no matter how they get it. They are the ones that play games on easy mode with cheat codes and then pat themselves on the back when they ''win''.

The DA is misleading and should be renamed ''Cluster diddly Arena". Iv had maybe five real duels in there that weren't interupted by one of those furball lake nuggets in the last year.
Once known as ''TrueKill''.

I have come to realize that the only thing you can practice in the DA is your SA. If you don't climb to 20k and go in with at least 5 countryman helping you will die in a sec. When I use to go there I use to go with squaddies or fly with countryman. I also noticed in furball lake that if you go with at least 3 friendlies with you the enmy tends to run away. They don't want to actually get in a furball they want to find that single con that has 6 guys on him and pick him. <S> Cajunn if you want man get with me and we will get a sh*t load of guys to go in there and just smoke them.

If you want to hone your skills, stay out of DA :) They have external views there = flying outside of one's airplane.

And yes, HOing has always been an art form. Not many can do it and survive.
