Very impressive outfit the French AF. Very good equipment, very good skills, very competent support infrastructure. Certainly world class.

It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

In 1944 USA was probably one of the few world power that wasn't bombed to oblivion ... or didn't have a war on her soil.

France jokes are getting a bit boring, anyways, good flying.

Three of the pilots i most admire were French: -

Thanks for posting those,

Its so stupid, France is a beautiful place, great people, don't know why you guys would even think they suck... If military power makes a country "awesome" then many countries, like Italy, aren't up to your expectations.

Yea, no kidding. I think Skuzzy's ban hammer turned into something belt fed.

LOL. Picking up arms on the French side, I got hammered. I guess one cannot even side with the French without a loss  :devil

Anyway, somebody brought up Nungesser. You should all read up on that guy. Insanely aggressive and brave. Lost his life trying to cross the Atlantic. One of those that you could truly call a heroic pilot.

Wow, I'm tempted just to write:  'See Rule #2'  I can imagine what was said, shame on you all for repeating that stuff. It stopped being funny a long time ago. If it ever was.

But back to the topic. I saw some of those before. The flying scenes are some of the best I've ever seen, sans pareil, I would say. Breathtaking. I would seriously consider downloading them all and putting them on a DVD. French aircraft, particularly the Mirage have a certain elegance about them. They just look right. It's been a while since we saw an ugly French aircraft.

Sorry, I don't know the name of that soundtrack. Perhaps if you can track down the poster of those films you would find your answer?

From the comments:

Quote
The video are scenes from the 2005 french movie "Les Chevaliers du Ciel", the music is from Loreena McKennitt and it's called "Prologue". It's the first song from the CD "The book of secrets" or sumtin' like that.

Sample is on her website: http://www.quinlanroad.com/explorethemusic/bookofsecrets.asp
