I don't mind spits that much anymore. Tey can be beaten just like any other plane. One plane I'm surprised doesn't come under fire for being "easy mode" is the F4U. The Corsair is a beast and turns even better than the Spitfire due to its higher-speed flaps. Its only dowfall is the backwards view. I started flying the F4U a bit more lately and I'm quite surprised I ever manage to beat thing thing with my 38  :)

The F4U's just have so many weapons, it is a wonderful plane and the only reason I quit flying it was because I now use trackir and your SA in the hog's is crappy with TrackIR.

as long as no one was on my six, it was fine, but I had a hard time tracking bandits on my six.

As long as you have your right/left backward/forward axises set up fairly sensitively it's easy to get a clear six view. And since you can make micro-adjustments to keep them in sight it's even better.

I just did a quick glance, I think I didn't even finish moving my head before I hit alt+s. Anyway, this is an idea of what it looks like when I take a quick check or whatever just to make sure no one's on me. I leaned forward and to the left in conjunction with moving my head, just like you do when trying to look behind you around an obstacle in real life.

Of course then if someone's on the other side it's easy to check too, not so easy with a  hat.

Bubble canopies are uber! (Spit's views are very nice as well...)
