That's onboard video, not to mention a very POOR video chipset. The problem with onboard video is that it takes its memory from your RAM and uses your processor cycles to generate any images on the screen. This can really slow down the system and can cause symptoms similar to the ones you were describing.

You might want to buy another video card knowing if you have an open slot in your computer for it and knowing that your power-supply unit will support it.

How can I check my power supply?  I looked on the computer but I didn't find anything.

I suggest you head into the proper forum and ask about everything you need to do to upgrade video cards and general practice while inside the case there. That or spend time reading articles to better familiarize yourself with PC maintenance.
