Don't judge the rest of the U.S. by what happens in Texas  ;)

Welcome to Texas! I live in North texas but we have quite a few squad members around Houston. I'll see if one or more of them can hook up with you and get you a texas sized hangover.  :aok

One good thing: everyone in TX drinks sweet tea ~ you don't have to stir in the sugar. :)

One bad thing: on some of the Farm to Market roads, the shoulder is as wide as a driving lane. If you're moving slow, you slide onto the shoulder & let the faster guy past, then you slide back onto the road. My husband didn't tell me about that whole bit (going about 120 km/hr) and I almost had a heart attack when he started sliding onto the shoulder.

Uh, no they don't.  Maybe that is a North Texas thing.  Born and raised in South Texas and was taught putting sugar in tea is a crime.

And do not get me started on "flavored" tea.

The Farm to Market roads (known as FM) in Texas are nicer than a lot of states highways. It is considered a friendly gesture to move aside for faster traffic. On highways the slower traffic should keep right.

Couple of points,

JDBecks, being British, will drink any American under the table whilst merely warming up. No one does binge drinking like the Brits.

Secondly, being British, he'll like his tea warm with milk. I'd guess what you guys have in mind may be rather repulsive to him.

You have not been to a Cowboys or NASCAR tailgate party.  :)

Of course, the beer/ale is weak here, as compared to anywhere in Europe.  So more of it has to be consumed to get where you want to be.

Secondly, being British, he'll like his tea warm with milk. I'd guess what you guys have in mind may be rather repulsive to him.

American tea will never placate a British citizen, if the British citizen is expecting British tea.  But, there are places in Texas where the Brits can get whatever they want to remind them of home.  Even in Grapevine, there is the British Emporium.  Nothing but British food stuffs.  You can also get a proper British tea there as well.

It depends on the person.  When I have traveled to Europe, I eat what they eat, and drink what they drink.  It is all different, but all-in-all it is good.  I even enjoyed the British tea.  It's not American tea, it is just different.

Then how come Texas drivers don't do it while on Arkansas highways?   :huh

Here, Interstate 30 is solid Lone Star State plates in the expresslane---with usually 5 to 7 locals racked up waiting to get by.  :(
