Memorial Day Thoughts
« on: May 25, 2009, 09:13:34 AM »
This day in America is reserved for taking time out to honor those who have sacraficed everything for a cause greater than themselves. Today is the day that we as Americans look to our Memorials, our History and our Experiences to reflect not only as Citizens, but as Individuals of a whole society.

We know that not every kid knows who was president during WWI, much less WWII. We know that there are people out there who can name the top 3 finishers of the last 4 American Idol's, but cant name one ship lost when the Japanese Attacked, much less the date it happened.

And we know we may not agree with everything our fellow citizens believe in, but we will fight to the death for their right to believe in it.

Democracy is a flawed utopia, but worth striving for.  Let us take a moment today and honor those who not only strived, but through countless wars, some worthy, some maybee not, but payed the ultimate price for our freedoms.

And for those of other nations, other beliefs and other ideals.  Today is for you as well, take a moment and honor your ancestors, your brothers, your sisters and your fallen heroes.

In the spirit of our own Revolutionary past, I say respectfully that one mans freedom fighter, is another mans terrorist. Let it not be me who judges, but instead defend my own beliefs from tyranny and not waste a moment on attempting to crush yours.

God Bless and Check 6 from the Aces and 8's
