FSO: Husky - Frame 2 Rule Clarifications
« on: June 08, 2009, 11:17:21 AM »
I have had a couple of questions about the rules and omissions so I am posting here and will be emailing the Squad COs.

1) In regards to the ground battle NO PLANE may attack any ground vehicles on either side. That means no bombing and no strafing. This battle is just between the M8s (Axis) and LVTs (allies). A harsh penalty will be assessed if a plane kills a GV. This also goes for allied troops running into V5s map room. Only GVs (M8s) may fire on them .. any axis plane strafing or bombing running troops will lose the battle for the Axis and the Allies will get the full 210 points.

2) An allied fleet will be parked off of V5. This will be fleet C115. It is not a target any attack on it by enemy planes will no earn points. Its sole purpose is to allow the allies to spawn their invasion force of LVTs to attack V5.

3) Fuel burn rate will be set to 1.0 for frame 2. Frame One's rate was a mix up and we apologize for that.

Are aircraft allowed to engage the Town at V5 to bring it down?
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

V5 is a V Base, no town to bring down.

Correct there is no town at V5.

I was going to allow an Allied CA to shell and allowed the 2 Axis shore guns to fire back but decided since this was something new that the addition of that element might complicate things to much. Or lead to 5 people having a very short action period (3 guns on CA, 2 shore guns) if they get knocked each other out early on. If the shore guns kill the CA .. well they have hard time depressing enough to be used against LVTs and their fire rate is slow for that purpose.

So decided to leave that part out.

Nope, planes shouldn't attack GVs or structures at the base.

Maybe in the future I will try a combined ops aspect. Ships shelling, shore guns responding, fighters contesting the air over head so that jabos can attack structures and GVs and stuff. But right now one step at a time. If the Amphibous assault works smoothly then I will see about adding more stuff options to it and maybe do a D-Day event in October with a massive Amphibous landing and combined ops portion of the battle.
