Spit XIV
« on: February 10, 2000, 05:46:00 PM »
I haven't really been following these posts so this may be old hat - so dont flame me 4 this.
But We have a spit IX which is cool but we dont have a Spit XIV. Spit XIV would be an awesome addition.
I know we're getting the V which is nice - but underpowered to be any real threat to a 109 so we need the XIV !!!!
Have i missed the point totally, or does no one else want one, or has this been resolved somehow????

The Spit MK V might not have the power the MK IX has but the turn radius is tighter.  Will this help in the arena?  I'm sure we'll find bona fide aces with the new Spit addition.

Anyways if the Spit MK XIV comes along you'll hear screaming for a 190D, TA152, or a KI 100.!!!

I agree with Swager. IMHO we should try to go back in the plane set ... much more interesting than late war monsters.

The SpitMkV WAS a real threat for the 109F4. If HTC will model both correctly you'll have almost the same chances to win the duel.

The 14 is a beast of a plane but it has every right to be included but for pay balanace. It was not rushed into service at the very end of the war. There were very reasonable numbers of the 14 built (many more than half the planes in the current planeset) and squadrons started recieving it in early '44. The only reason not to include it would be it is possibly the finest prop driven plane of ww2, turns like a spit9 (apparently), climbs like a 109 k4, and is as quicker than the 51D (at some/most heights?)
