Hap1 and I coordinated a strike using several flights of B17's, B24's, and a number of escorts in LWO tonight. Targets were two Knit airfields. The flight went well, the strike went as planned with our objective hangars brought down.
As my B17s were egressing and being chased by several Knit Me262's and others, we made for A28 in a shallow descent. I smoked both engines on one 262, but shortly thereafter while our home base was coming into visual, the real-life thunderstorm hanging over our house decided to do a dance on the power grid. Flash! *Blink*!! Boom!!!
I wondered as the storm rumbled overhead if I should've just bailed and logged. God was either saying "yes, log now", or that 262 pilot learned a new .command.
Wasn't too upset about it. More funny than anything.
