Gray Wolves Expansion 3.0

It is a Mega-Expansion. It features new Graphics, Sound, Models, Settings etc, etc...
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

There is also an interesting mod that allows you to play a German torpedo boat.

Very impressive. I liked the first one especially, the onboard animations were really great. SH4 has many improvements graphicaly. The 3D ship damage in SH4 is one of the main things they improved alot, from what i see.

Yeah. From what I hear SH5 is underway and will take us back to the Atlantic. ETA Q4 09.

Am I the only one that thinks the crew management side of SH is a PITA without really adding very much?

I like the crew management aspect. Moving the crewman to station and managing there careers is fun, the downside is that they get fatigued

Thankfully fatigue goes away at accelerated speeds.

Use Sub Commander. It allows you to tweak many setting in SH3/GWX to your preference, including the fatigue model. In addition it adds a lot of immersion to your campaign. Check the Subsim forums for the must-have mods.

Alright, this thread finally made me get the game. It's early 1940, I'm in a VIIB with no upgrades and standard crew +1 uberofficer. Ran into a large British convoy off the SW coast of Britain. As I was taking a peek at periscope depth, one of the destroyers caught on and came after me. Seemingly not realizing I was staring at him through the periscope, he just kept coming until at 350m I dumped three torps in his face and crash dived. Problem is, there was apparently a Clemson in his shadow that isn't very happy with me sinking his buddy. Currently at 70m depth and silent running...but he knows where I am.

Halp. :D

Get behind them and emergency surface at very close range. Shoot the deck gun at their prop housing before they notice you then crash dive and move away to torp them at will while they sit dead in the water.   :devil

note: this method does not ever work out ok.

If you got GWX 3.0, Dive as deep as you boat can take. When the ASDIC is pinging you constant, and the boat engines are on top of you, go ahead full and make a course and depth adjustment. I usually hit left or right rudder and when sonar operator declares charges in the water I bring rudder amidships. As soon as the charges stop exploding I turn back to my planned course, dive again and drop to 1 knot.

Hope that Helps.  :salute

No..I want the atmosphere/graphical and damage model improvements of GWX, but the rest is over the top of my head for now.

EDIT: Do the destroyers ever run out of depth charges, I wonder? :D Probably take forever...

Just a reminder, always name your saves... The game does not like repeated saves on 1 file apparently.

I name mine a number for the patrol and then a letter for which save. For example... I am on save 3e.

Nothing is worse than a huge haul being negated by a corrupt file.
