Finally getting a new card.
« on: June 17, 2009, 02:26:57 PM »
Friend of mine is giving me his old 7900GT KO to replace my X1650. Also have someone sending me a 500watt power supply to confront the new card's power than my old 450watt. I know the 7900Gt isn't that new but it's better than my old one!

Until recently, I was using a 7900GS.. was very happy with its performance... plus you can't beat the price!

Check to see if this card has "Samsung" on the RAM chips, if so, it might be defective.

You dont need a 500 watt PSU for a card that old.
I was running a
E2160@ 2.16GHz
2GB 800MHz RAM
400GB HDD
ATI 4850 512MB

all on a 350 watt power-supply.
