No doubt. He's already WELL on his way to passing a lot of Stan Musial's team and league records, and tied him for career Grand Slams as a Cardinal after yesterday (GOD that thing was a bomb!) with 9. I don't think he'll touch the Triples, but despite not having a lot of speed he's become a pretty formidable base-stealer as well.
What's more impressive is his balanced approach. Massive power, (best description I've heard is a doubles hitter with a little extra oomph) one of the hardest to strike out in all of baseball, consistency at the plate, and a perennial Triple Crown threat--probably the one guy in today's game that has the tools to do it (the last guy in the National League to do it was another Cardinal: Joe "Ducky" Medwick. In 1937). He's a throwback to old-school ball where guys viewed striking out as a personal afront, not like your average power hitters today like Dunn and Howard who don't care if they strike out 200 times a year and only hit .250 as long as they get their 40 bombs.
Seeing him come up in a situation like yesterday afternoon where the pitcher had no chance but deal with him is electrifying.
