Perk Points and the Spitfire F.MkXIVc vs. other aircraft

I have decided to suspend my efforts to get the Spitfire F.MkXIVc added into AH.  The Spitfire F.MkXIVc is still my favorite kite, and I would be delighted at its addition to AH, but it will need to be a Perk Plane.  It does not make sense for me to expend my efforts to get an aircraft added that I will so rarely be able to fly.  I have 350 Fighter Perk Points right now, that would give me 5-7 losses (estimated cost based on current Perk Fighters) in the Spitfire F.MkXIVc.  Further, I do not particularly enjoy flying while being paranoid and over-cautious because I may loose my Perk Points (I do enjoy flying to live and I especially enjoy landing after a successful sortie, but the threat of losing 3 weeks worth of work takes all the fun out of the game for me).  I have flown the Tempest once and it was not an enjoyable experience due to that kind of baggage.  Because of these things I do not believe that I would get much enjoyment out of the Spitfire F.MkXIVc.

There are, however, numerous other aircraft that I would enjoy very much that will not be Perk Planes.  I would, for example, especially enjoy the Mosquito FB.MkVI, H8K2 "Emily" and Il2-M3 (which I believe is probably coming in v1.07).  Because of that I will now be pushing for these, and other, aircraft to be added to AH.  I will start with the Mosquito FB.MkVI, which I think would be a very fun and challenging aircraft to use in AH.

Used properly the extremely clean lines of the Mosquito would make it difficult to catch.  For example, the top 3 fighters in AH would all have difficulty catching it.  The F4U-1C would have the best shot, but after diving 5,000-10,000ft the Mosquito would probably be going as fast or faster than the F4U-1C and its extremely clean lines would cause it to decelerate at a slower rate, once at max sustainable speed the F4U-1C (or 1D) would gradually over take the Mosquito.  The N1K2 and Spitfire MkIX both lack the speed needed to catch the Mosquito unless they get a good dive on it or manage to cut it off via a vectored intercept.  Things like the P-51, Typhoon, Tempest, La7, Bf109G10 and Fw190D-9 would all be able to catch it fairly easily.

The Mosquito FB.MkVI's roll rate and turn rate would make it very challenging to use as a fighter, but it would be possible to have some successes with it in the fighter roll.  For ground attack the Mosquito would be ranked right up there with the P-38L, P-47D-30 and F4U-1C.

What about a real 1944 Mk 9???   Like the LF that is 10 MPH faster on the deck and climbs 500 FPM better??    That wouldn't need to be a perk, but would hold up a lot better in the arena.

Maybe, just maybe, the SpitXIV can be added as a free aircraft with an extremely low ENY value. Sort of like the CHOG right now.  Sure you can get kills in these birds, but not many points.

We know that players will start thinking about what they are flying <ENY values> when some additonal perk aircraft are added.  AS of now, we only have 2--to chose from.  When we get a F8F, p-80,ME262 etc etc then plp will start wanting perks at the end of their sorties. Right now, having 350 perks, its not worth it to spend 70 on that tempest that doesnt really interest you. I know i dont because im saving mine for something a bit more interesting to me. BUT, would you spend 100 on a ME262? I would.

The perk system is young and  I would'nt be surprized to see the CHOG and the spitXIV as cheap perks...say 10perkies.

If we have the spitIX and the f4U-D then maybe it should cost a little something to ride in the high end models.  What constitutes high end models?  Its dangerous, because what about planes like the niki that really doesnt have brothers or sisters?

Gonna be interesting to see what happens.

Maybe, but I honestly WANT the Mosquito FB.MkVI Series 2.  I also REALLY think that the Spitfire MkXIV needs to be a perk.  I mean, look at the numbers on the 1942 Spitfire we have now.

I have been really wanting to take the Mosquito MkVI up in AH lately.

I'd like to see the following aircraft added in v1.08:

That would simply be an incredible version upgrade.  It would make fans of each nations aircraft very happy.  I have seen many requests for all of those.
