FPS...why the change?

Playing the regular AH I usually got 60 fps because thats the monitor refresh rate.  Thats with full detail and HiRes pack.  Since I installed beta (was getting 45-40 fps playing beta with full detail and HiRes pack) when around a large number of cons, fires, water my FPS drop to 13-20...and that sucks.  So the question is why would my FPS drop like that if beta didn't effect regular AH2.  I haven't installed anything new other than Beta or changed any settings.

It is quite impossible for the Beta to impact the regular game, unless you install the Beta over the top of the regular game.

Yeah I get that and I can play them separately so I wonder if my video card is going south.  Last night while playing it was fine....I hate computers, the internet, and anything else that may cause my AH2 experience to fall short of what I have expected....lol
