Since the pilot was unhurt in this accident I post this impressive picture:

Lt.(jg) Oliver D. Droege, USN, of Kansas City, Missouri (USA), assigned to fighter squadron VF-791 Fighting Falcons, crashes with his Vought F4U-4 Corsair after taking off from the aircraft carrier USS Boxer (CV-21) on 19 May 1951. Boxer was deployed to Korea with Carrier Air Group 101 (CVG-101) from 2 March to 24 October 1951. Lt. Droege was rescued by a helicopter.
Date    19 May 1951
