Which wouldn't be let in game since, I'm guessing, this all took place in the Spanish Civil War and before September 1, 1939.
Agreed to bad about that there must have been a few other guys there as well..

I'll probably do the white Guards No 21 aircraft as my next I-16 skin.

BTW I asked Pyro and Spanish Civil War skins are not allowed for the MA. Skins of captured aircraft used by the Spanish Fascist Air Force during WW2 are not likely to be allowed either, which is a shame because I found a really nice one.

You have it backwards Comrad.  It flew in the Spanish Civil War as part of the Republican Forces which were supported by the Sovet Union by sending supplies and "volunteers".

 July 17, 1936 to April 1, 1939.

There are many Rebublicans that went to fight for Russia after SCW <20k+->.
I read some where about this plane as it went with them as did many of there wares.
There is plenty of info on the the Esquadrilla Azul.
Trying to find info on the losers is much harder ...... Comrad!

I could use some help though.

This is my skin of an I-16 Type 24 of the 4th GIAP. It was probably the personal aircraft of Lt. G. Tsokolaev, who was made a HSU in June 42 for having shot down 20 aircraft. The 4th GIAP covered the supply route across Lake Ladoga to the beseiged city of Leningrad in the winter of 1941/42.

Sweet. Question would the nose art appear on both sides of the aircraft or just the side shown?

I'd have a better chance in running into a Dodo Bird in the middle of rush hour, walking down the I-5 with two hookers in tow before I see a useful post from glock89- Ack-Ack

Hyperscale is having a Barbarossa theme for the model builders.  there have been a boatload of I-16s done.  Might be worth checking out for inspiration
