cv control
« on: July 01, 2009, 05:09:49 PM »
the present set up for comanding a cv excludes any players that fly strickly fighters do to low over all rank. also there can be a whole country comanding anonimously, how often a cv does nothing but back & forth going in circles do to 50 comanders each with thier own agenda.

the 1 other thing i enjoy besides dog fighting is surface battles. there is nothing worse than ranging enemy cv & having some player flying some where on other side of map changing cv direction, very fustrating!

what i think would be a salution is only players on or flying off that cv have abillity to control before the rest. thats if there is some way of doing it.

any ways this has been my biggest pet peev with the game so im hoping/wishing it will change  :pray

Agreed.

There have also been some suggestions that if you take command of a TG you are stuck in the tower of its associated Carrier. If you leave the tower you lose your command.

dreadful idea. who wants to sit in the CV tower for the 50mins it takes to cross just one sector?

what about CVs that are 4 or 5 sectors from the frontline?

Leaving the tower doesn't cancel the waypoints set. It only relieves you of command.

I think this would be a dreadful idea, although I think that there should be a range limit. I think that a player who's controlling a CV has to be within, well, radar range wouldn't be too bad, but maybe even the sector...

This seems to be a good compromise on the original idea.

This wouldnt stop them from sitting AFK in the tower while the CV is bombed. Maybe propose a time limit.

Good idea.  What I hate is when I'm the only gunner onboard a CV under attack and some bozo somewhere turns my gun out of play.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

Excellent ideas gents.

It is no fun when someone messes with your battle. CV control from within the sector or maybe 2 sectors would work well.

Sounds good, a little pop up message that will come up every 10 minutes saying,
"Would you like to keep control of your CV?" having a yes/no button. If nothing is pressed within 30 secs, automatically give up command. I like that idea in conjunction with the range idea.
