Vista SP2 Problems
« on: July 06, 2009, 09:45:33 PM »
Had no problems with my previous setup of Vista SP1, on 07/03/2009 I decided to
upgrade to SP2.   On 07/05/09 I noticed a slowing down of my system, then a couple of freezes where the screen stayed locked in necessitating my turning the computer off   :frown:

Today I wasn't able to logon as the computer did nothing, the welcome scrn was up but clicking on firefox was frozen.   I attempfed to perform a "SYSTEM RESTORE" but much to my chagrin it didn't work, I kept getting the following message:

Unexpected error, parameter is incorrect (0x80070057)
                           System Restore will now close.

Switched off & on my PC & was able to logon, but unable to restore system, searched for solution on google, microsoft & other websites, all to no avail.

People I'm in dire need of ur assistance to either REPAIR or to UNINSTALL SP2, if
uninstalling it is going to do any good?!  Thx for ur time.

Un-installing it sounds like your only option at this point.
