I found this game when looking for flight sims of this style.
Having purchased just about every flightsim to come out, I've come to the conclusion
that any flightsim that tries high-graphics ends up being completely unplayable.
I want a flightsim which is LOW-graphics, HIGH-flight-model.
I do not want a compromise on flight for graphics.
Lag and poor frame-rates are not my priority in purchasing this game.
I will not be upgrading my computer for the new version.
I will not be running it in high-graphics mode if given the choice.
I will be taking my money elsewhere if forced into a frame-lag-fest.

Seems to me....
1 - HTC typically goes out of its way in not coming out with too super duper graphics so as to accommodate the widest range of systems out there. From low end to high end. I've personally seem people complain that "the graphics are behind other games." even with new releases
2- in each version of the game I've seen. they have all had detail settings in the preferences that allowed even those with lower end machines to run the game reasonably well. Again. to accommodate the largest range of PCs out there.
3 -Refer to 1 and 2 . Unlike some games that come out where you damn near have to have a machine that isnt even available yet just to play at their lowest settings. (yeat thats an exaggeration but you get my point)
4 - Its been my experience. both personal and by witness that HTC and its player base are pretty damn good at helping players out with problems running the game. HTC with system tweaks and some players occasionally outright giving away spare parts they may have to help another player out. I myself did as much a year or so ago.
And someone did as much for me once.
Can I promise you that someone will be willing or able to give you what you need to keep playing? No.I cant even promise you that you can be helped at all.
But you aint gonna get it this way
I can however promise you that if you come in respectfully and without stomping your feet throwing a temper tantrum and threatening to take your ball and go home. That there is alot of help that can be had here. Try the hardware & software forum.
Final point.
Assuming you cant be helped. Is HTC supposed to keep using old graphics just to accommodate you? Perhaps they should roll back the software to atari 2600 standards instead?
You rcomment of
"Having purchased just about every flightsim to come out, I've come to the conclusion
that any flightsim that tries high-graphics ends up being completely unplayable"Nonsense. they just become uplayable to on machines that cant handle them.
Upgrading is as inevitable as the sun rising. Machines are only going to get faster and able to handle more. And with that The software does too to take advantage of the newer systems.
They dont stand pat forever, and they dont go backwards. And neither is going to wait up forever for you or me
