Isn't it funny how two people can have different memories of a fight that just happened? Intruding in knight land I got bounced by a Kurfurst. This one blew my mind.

please tell me I wasn't dreaming. I know I blow that rolling scissor ( spiral climb
? ) at around 2:24. I lost him. I shoulda rolled right in behind him. lose sight lose fight
don't really have a problem with the pilot of the ea ...... just baffled at the exchange afterwords...
I know technically thats a front quarter shot he pulled on me lol
OK ... 2 things I would like you to do. 1) Pay no heed to the text exchange. What I saw wasn't deliberate ho attempts but flawed defensive flying. 2) Replay the film in slower motion with the X1 tab at about .70. Check the
fixed view and
trail tabs and play film. Don't check pilot view. At any time feel free to use the pause then vertical and horizontal sliders adjacent to the screen. Just watch the trails.
At .35 your first defence move was to cut the angle of the 109's gun solution. Weather you should have went low in the right turn or done something completely different like a barrel roll or going vertical is besides the point. Lots of "if I woulda shoulda coulda's" reviewing films

Then you turned lazily after the con. At .52 in my opinion the fight was lost when you showed your cards and broke low. Everyones the red-bloody-barron untill they make a fundamental mistake and had I been the 109 I'd have know this was only a matter of time.
Review the film and you'll see that had you stayed high by leveling out you would have had more options. All very speculative I know but the crack is to go from Defence to Offence asap. This may mean you go from Defence to Offence Defence for want of a better expression but had you leveled off at this point you would have been in a better position to "manage" the situation. By braking low as you did you put yourself firmly in a defensive position
again which, in turn gave the 109 more options. Neither is good. At this point bear in mind energy management the basics of which are Alt for speed, speed for Alt. Had you stayed level the speed you felt you need there and then by going low would have built up. The 109 in the mean time would have had to gone high to stay in charge of the fight BUT at least you would have been in a better position to manage the exchange.
Commenting on what you should have done after going level here is pure speculation and not worth commenting on other than to say you would have been in a better position to manage the unfolding events.

Anyways.... carrying on with the film there was a series of defensive maneuvers and by 1.54 you were fully committed into a "following" regime. By that I mean you were trying to follow the con to get his six. Had you been in a better turning plane I could live with that but you wasn't. Spacial awareness is like a game of chess. You have to think a few moves ahead. You don't want to follow the con.
You want to be where the con is going to be. Yer...all a bit complicated to explain and easier said than done and only really comes with experience. Once you become aware of where the con
is then where he's
going to be your maneuver is to meet him there on his six.
To recap. Always fight up as they say. Don't blow your alt. Initiate a maneuver than go to where the con is going to be after that maneuver. Watch a few more of your films in long view with trail on then it'll be easier to disseminate what the appropriate moves could have been.
My 2 new pence worth.
