Rearm dot command for offline testing
« on: July 10, 2009, 08:07:16 PM »
This thought popped into my head while reading moot's instructions for finding the halftrack rocket range.

We have plenty of people around here that do testing of all sorts to back up claims or compare to real-world data. In the case of the rocket ranging, most of your time is spent running around grabbing new loads of rockets and supplies.

Why not introduce a rearm dot command that works in the same way as the other "CM" commands (ie, only work for privileged players since you're an "admin" offline) that immediately rearms your aircraft/vehicle like the rearm pad does? It at least seems like a somewhat simple thing to connect ".rearm" with the signal given from the rearm pad.

I forget but isn't there a way to give yourself unlimited ammo offline? Seems like it would be the same really.

Yes, arena settings allow you unlimited fuel and ammo except in "ordnance," like bombs, rockets, and supplies.

Even so, that would affect weight and other fun issues for offline "testing."

Love the idea though.

My thought is that it would be a big time saver for testing fuel-based things, like duration on a certain tank, weight and CoG changes based on the fuel level of each tank, and other such things.
