8800 GTS 512 here and 182.06 runs good. But every comp is a little different what works good for others didn't work for me. It may be trial and error the newest is not always the best. Just make sure you get rid of all parts of the driver before you put new one in. Just don't overwrite them. Use a driver cleaner between installs just make sure you delete display if you are nvidia based board.
