Some more GVs
« on: July 16, 2009, 01:52:41 AM »
Well I have a japan fix right now, so I have been flying everything japanese. Bombing, fighting, troops (c47 with jap skin) But I realize... We don't have a jap tank! And I wanna use tanks, but there is no jap tank  :frown:

So, lets add a japanese tank! YES I know it has been wished for before, oh well.

For you people saying "oh, the japanese really sucked in the tank department" well then wouldn't it be a perfect time to add the american sherman into the game? Put them both in game at the same time, like you did with the I16 and brewster, and they should balance out eachother. I have no idea which japanese tank, so you can debate that between yourselfs, I just want a tank with that big red dot on the side! :x :x :x

Of course AH could use a Japanese tank. But if you wish for it, please do some research and articulate which one you'd like. With specifications, why it should be added, how it would be pro-gameplay.

I have no idea which Japanese tanks there are around, so convince me!

Yay for more tanks though  :aok

This one I thought was interesting, the type 95 Ha-Go.

It looks to be a light tank with a 3 man crew and a 37mm main gun with the machine gun 120 degrees to the right.

The japanese didn't really much care for tanks aparently, and this was the best I could find. Maybe a good match for the m8?

Here is the site:

Probably the Japanese tank that would fit into AH best would be the Type 97 Chi-Ha.

Armor: 8-33mm
Main Gun: 57mm Type 97 w/100 rounds
MGs: 2x7.7mm (coax & rear)
Speed: 38kph
Production: just over 2000

Also a later version was the Type 97 Shinhoto Chi-Ha which changed the 57mm for a high velocity 47mm with 120 rounds.

This tank could be (let the screams ensue) a sub for the Italian M13/40 & M14/41 (maybe the M 15/42 also) in scenarios.  Yes, I know the Italian 47mm was superior & had more rounds, yes I know the Italian tanks had more MGs, yes I know the Italian tanks had better armor, yes I know the Italian tanks were slower.  That is why it is not an Italian tank.  Of course we could always sub a M14/41 for the Type 97 in scenarios also.  :P

I'd rather get the amphibious Type 2 Ka-Mi for the Japanese and the M14/41 for the Italians; but I'd rather get 1 new plane & 1 new tank over 2 new tanks.

Good find! I like this one better!
