Mid day Saturday's are impossible on the weekends, especially in the summer.
I regret doing business with TD Computer Systems.

I have a photographic memory. The only problem is that sometimes I forget to take off the lens cap.

I'd love to fly with you Brooke, but real life is a real pain sometimes, and committing to a several-frame scenario just doesn't work for me.  I had to withdraw from the last scenario I signed up for and don't want to do that again (it just isn't fair to anyone).

If I happen to be free, I'd love to sign on as a walk on.  Scenarios are a blast, and if anyone has the spare time but has never tried it, I can't encourage them enough :aok

Sorry -- "side switch" was a typo in the writeup.  Kermit had it right.  It is a 2-frame scenario of the USN vs. the IJN!  You should fly in it.

(By the way, we already have scheduled the scenario after that.  It is a separate, unrelated, 2-frame scenario -- completely different.  In that one, it's the IJN vs. the USN.  I think this other scenario will be fun, too, though.  So I hope you fly in both, but maybe you can make only one.  ;) )

Can someone explain timings?
If i got it right, frame 1 will last about 4 hours?

Show-Up Time (show up at least by then, as arena is locked immediately after that time).
Takeoff = approx. S+30 minutes (gives time for briefings, assignment of walkons, organization).
End of hostilities = T+3 hours (3 hours potentially of fighting).
End of frame = T+3.5 hours (30 minutes to get landed after end of hostilities, which is S+4 hours).

The real Battle of Coral Sea was predominantly a 2-day battle:  May 7 and May 8, 1942.

That's what we are modelling here.  Two frames of battle (May 7 and 8).  Then to make a 4-frame scenario, a side switch and replaying May 7 and May 8.

By May 6, both fleets had spotted each other.  On May 7, both launched strikes early. The IJN destroyed the Neosho (an oiler) and sank the Sims (destroyer escorting the Neosho), and the US sank the Shoho.

On May 8, the IJN destroyed the Lexington and damaged the Yorktown, and the US damaged the Shokaku.

Just signed up, this will be my first scenario in AH. I flew a couple in AW a long time ago.

When, and how will I find out what my assignment is?

You'll get briefed before the mission.

Also, you'll get access to the "Coral Sea Team Alpha" or "Coral Sea Team Zulu" forum, where the sides post orders, squadron assignments, and so on.  Folks typcially get access to those forums within a 2-3 days of registering.

And welcome to AH scenarios!  Glad to see you in the skies of Coral Sea!  :aok
