hblair,
I agree full heartedly with the "Warning system" but, IMHO, bardar should remain in place. Anyhow, it should be (again IMHO) revamped, so that info is only displayed over friendly territory and borderlines. Besides that, sector size has to be doubled or trebled, and have several targets within, so that the "phone" warnings of the population works, but there is still some uncertainty as to where is the real threat.
On this matter, I would also modify clipboard map, so that updates are each 5 minutes or, better yet (and as someone, whose name evades me, suggested), make it updatable only by means of a dot command (i.e. type .radar or .radar 9.11 and you receive a fresh update of the general situation or the sector you are in).
Finally, please, pretty please, GET RID of the GPS. Terrains like Mindanao offer a good bunch of visual references as to know where you are, in terms of navigation and orientation, and it's an unacceptable aid to SA which favours only the lazy and lousy pilots in detriment the careful ones. Unfair to say the least.
Cheers,
Pepe
