If you kids are so hot for worthless black inky dark no good night flying with BRIGHT NEON ICONS then lets just have HTC set up a inky black night arena for you to play in, and leave the rest of us in PEACE.

If the icons are so easy to see then you should be able to shoot us down no problem. One of you issues solved.

Because we are not disturbing your peace, you have no complaint. I think the idea of an arena that is permanently day and one that swithces like the real world is a great idea.

And steve, I don't think we would wan't night all the time.

It would not look as good as the games night. I think it really looks good now. I was suprised when I seen it Friday night. Came a long way from what it used to be. Adds a whole new element. Radar would be way more important.

I loved the way it worked on Friday; the moon illuminated the F6Fs plenty well for a squaddie to tangle with them. But yeah, that night sky was beautiful. I swear I could see the big dipper and that snake carrier dude on Saturday during the Scenario.

This is what will happen if night were to come back:  People will leave the game, just like they did before, when we HAD night.  Yeah, it would be fun for a bit, but only if others would up and fly like normal.

What will HAPPEN, like what HAPPENED before, is that a small group of squads will realize that this is the time to run NOE missions for base takes.  Since you can't see more than 1K, these base takes are incredibly simple, since they only need two sets of buffs (or three heavy 110's), a heavy cannon fighter and a goon.  When we had night before, a certain squadron (which will remain nameless) used to take 15 bases or more in an hour, when the arena went to night.  It's literally impossible to stop, since you have to be on top of the goon or attackers to see them, and all they need to do is fly to a dot on a map.  Others will follow, and it becomes a chaotic mess of retards all trying not to fight, like it was before.   Once others get fed up with the impossiblility of stopping these base taker night NOE runs, they leave.  Soon all you have left are the retards, all staying away from each other, taking bases without a shot.

Wow, that sounds like something I want to relive again.

Besides, any further contemplation of this subject is retarded, as HT has already said plainly that night will never happen again, due to the exact reasons mentioned.

Wait, the icon range was shortened? Well if so then just leave it as normal so you won't have that problem.

If you are talking about how icons would disappear when NOE, I think they got rid of that a while ago.

Thats what I did for the pictures above but it seemed quality was not as good as when in the film viewer. Oh well. Maybe I will post short film.

That's because you went from raw screen output to a compressed JPEG.

I'm betting the CMs played around with the lighting settings too. They're what makes the difference.
Also, Aces High has an accurate star map.
