a possible good idea
« on: July 19, 2009, 08:08:30 PM »
ok...so i was flying mw today.....and after checking my stats, see i actually topped 10 hours this month....yayyyy!!!!!!

anyway, there was a fight going on over v33..or 34...i forget which. anyway, there were a lot of fights. shuffler was there. i merged with llgaf in his c2 vs my 38j...he was about 1k higher. the fight worked to my advantage, so gaf took it low, and fast to try n regain his advantage......but flew into a hornets nest.

my point here? well.....shuffler, knowing that i'm always looking for help/advice(i think) formed up on my wing, and became the "voice in my head". basically tossing tips at me live time, as the fight unfolded.....not excessively, only when he thought i needed them.

i know he's no trainer, but he IS a p38 ninja. it helped me immensely....and as a matter of fact, i've already re-watched parts of the film to see if i missed anything.

so........now after all that, i was wondering if that would be something you trainer ninjas, and you vets would think to be a good idea to do in the regular arenas more often? and i know you all work hard trying to help the rest of us)

i mean........in the training arena, obviously you survive till ya hit the ground......but because of that, once you get past a certain point, it just seems to "feel" different. it seems almost impossible to recreate our cartoon combat in there.....whereas in one of the main arenas(once you're past the basic), that "feel" and excitement is there.

BTW....thanks for that shuffler.....i think that was probably the most helpful thing i've had ingame recently.  :salute

Sounds good, CAP1, now that u've rewatched the film, why not post it on the board so  that the rest of us would benefit from the expertise being played out ... Thx.

lemme edit out some of the stupid comments i tend to make, and i'll load it to photobucket..........and i have to edit it to just this fight. the film itself is almost an hour long....i kept re-upping without cycling the film on and off.......

any good squadron leader or wing leader  will be vocal enough to verbally coach his wingmen when needed.

Until they do not need telling they just DO  as one.

well bruv i agree with you .the way i see it there's 3 ways of playing this game .your either a gv'er a fighter jock or a land grabber .if you want to learn to dogfight find a good squad that does just that.we have a guy that just started playing the game .about 2 tours now and progress is slow but coming alone well .funny the other day he asked about tanks and we told him no stay in the air lol.we'll get to that later . :salute

Gee thanks guys. I think I just rattle alot.

In the situation cap is refering to it was interesting just giving small input. Cap has a pretty good handle on the 38 so from my bird it was almost as if playing a game in the game. If I noticed him a bit fast I'd prod him more as a reminder than anything else. All along being right there if he was jumped by another or got in too deep.

I have found that many folks will train and get fairly good at flying their bird in the TA. Then when they get in the heat of battle half of what they learned gets hazy while they are trying to concentrate on a con. When you get in close you have to react in a heartbeat. Until what you have learned becomes almost second nature it helps having an extra voice in your head.

I'm not much of a teacher in the respects of folks like the AH Trainers, but I will help if asked and sometimes when not asked. lol

That was fun cap took yall long enough to get me. That was more of 2 hornets nests hehe  No matter which way I went I was surounded by red guys. It became a challenge to see how long I could stay alive and just maybe take a few with me. Thought I lost all if ya until I saw tracers come zinging by from the 205 and I lost a tail. Salute my red guy friend
