Instrument Flight in thick FOG
« on: July 26, 2009, 11:01:58 PM »
I think it would be neat if we had fog in the game requiring us to be instrument rated.  Not just regular fog but the the thick stuff all teh way up to 20k and across the entire mapz.  We could all have a great time flying on instruments and when we get so close to another plane that we can hear it then we fire all our gunz.

It's a ton of fun occasionally.  The Aleutians FSO scenario had this and pretty much everyone loved it.  Thick banks of clouds like the old storm fronts in AH1 were also definitely fun to come up on bombers and only have them start to appear at nearly point blank.

well you can practice this off-line if you like.

Just go to the arena settings and set the fogvisibiltymiles to 0.5

For an added twist, set the arena time to 03:00 and you really cant see!

Was a great place for proxy's.

Took me a bit to figure out it's better to be the guy getting the Fauger  kills than the Fauger'er.

Great fun! :aok

one of the maps has ground fog. it rolls in off of the water, totally obscuring the port.
