Midwar 7/26/09
« on: July 27, 2009, 07:27:29 AM »
Last night saw a wild night of epic battles over port 48 and base 47. VF-15 rolled through around 9pm EST and took about 6 bases in about 10 minutes. JG54 and friends came into the arena shortly after that.

our first task was to recapture 68. In a 2 fronted assault, speerheaded by master mission-planner Osceola, JG54 and company took back 68. It was no easy task, as the fighting was intense. With both ground vehicles and aircraft fully involved this battle alone lasted quite some time.

after the capture of 68, it was time to take back port 48. With the full compliment of players, JG54 and company went after 48. the battle was intense as the knights didnt want to give it up and threw everyone they had to that area. wave after wave of planes and GV's came in. They (the Knights)were relentless and so were the bishops. after a struggle of about an hour, the bishops managed to capture the port!! 48 was ours!!

now on to 47. while everyone was involved with 48, Tbarone and friends managed to take back 50 from them too! this was just icing on the cake for the Mighty JG54 and friends. At one point the Knights outnumbered the bishops 2 to 1, yet the bishops just percevered and continued to fight.

now A47 was a whole new ball of wax. with the interdiction of half of JG54, the other half, including jaeger1, tbaron, beardawg and a few others upped bomber and headed for the town and base at 47. The fighterwing portion of JG54 kept the brave fighters of A47 at bay. Try as they might, they just could not defeat the "A" team that they were up against. fighter after fighter was destroyed.

Now the bomber group arrived, and dropped on the town! the town was wiped out in 2 passes. Like the voracious group that they are the knights at A47 kept trying. The bishops now sent over a goon. the fighting was like no battle that had been seen before.

oddly enough,  200 was extremely friendly at this point. everyone was saluting one another. There was no negative banter and it was very enjoyable. <S> to HVYGUNS, NKAWTG, and the rest of the VF-15 and friends.

now with just a few minutes left on the town, a goon heading toward 47, it was a race of time. the guys capping the field were running out of fuel and bullets. the goon was coming full wep! it was like trying to beat the train to the crossing.

then one by one, the defenders at A47 manage to take out the cap, as the manned guns started popping and some of the guys coming in from different bases.

just as the goon got to the town, the first buildings started popping and the edge was lost! the cap was lost and the bishops ran out of time.

with the Cap down, and the base popping back up, the knights were able to start upping planes and gvs again! now the battle went back to 48. all the attackers now went on the defensive as JG54 and friends tried to defend 48 again. at this point it was midnight and I had to log off.

Great night of fights guys! was a lot of fun. <S> to everyone that participated! its been great fun! i hope we can do it again tonight. see ya in the friendly skies!!  :)   :aok

your timing's off. it was around 6 or 7'ish that we rolled 47, 48, and 68. i logged out at around 8:30, and the battle for 68 was still ongoing.
i came back in around 10-10:30'ish, and 68 was gone, with battles going on for V-10, and P-48. we took 10 shortly after i logged on. some came to the defense of 47, but that only lasted for a few minutes, as we decided to go after A-9. there was almost constant fight, in the air, on land, and in the water, as it seemed all 31 rooks were there.
we never did manage a capture of 9, b ut what we DID manage, was some incredible fighting there.

47 was only being very lightly defended when you guys were hammering it......i don't recall anyone talking about 50 till it was taken.

the only thing that kept me from coming to play with yas at 47, was the incredible fights at a9/v10.

oo....not to take the thread in the wrong direction.....osceola may be a master......but it's not of planning....and i can't say what i think of him here.....which i know makes him happy.

Its kinda neat you take the time to note and record all this stuff.  I usually just go in there and kill stuff for an hour or two.
