Microsoft Word

Is there a background process or startup item that Word loads onto your system that might affect AHII? A squadmate just installed an older version of Word (2003) and has ever since had a problem with hesitations.

There is no background process for Word by itself. If that is Office 2003 professional then there might be a couple of processes running Access and Excel visual basic scripting.

I could have sworn that Word came with an indexing program of some sort but if you say no...

Thanks.  :salute

You mean Findfast.exe?  I know that comes with Office 97; I shut it off using MSconfig.  I don't know if it comes with Office 2003.  I know it doesn't with Office 2007.

Word itself isn't associated with findfast.exe. The office suite is, or used to be. There is an indexing option in Word but it's not a memory resident individual process.
