If you right click on it and select run as administrator, does it run then?

Using XP the error message I get seems to be a standard windows type error message....

Aces High has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience etc etc....

then has a click here link for error codes.... click the link and shows all kinds of hex codes

says its saving information to a txt file but that file is not created after closing the error...

exact symptom is  click on icon..... white window opens on screen like game is about to load then error pops up.....

in the error code it lists pretty much every file thats in the d/l and a bunch of hex info behind em

It worked now thank you sir, was running as admin to download the first time, never ran it like that again. Does this mean however i have to run as admin everytime i play?

Oh.. and Frame rates are garbage    :uhoh

OK just out of experimentation to get this thing to work I changed my windows resolution from 1680x1050 down to 800x600.....

game opened fine and worked fine......

closed game and changed windows back to 1680x1050...... reopened game and all seems to still be working fine....

this may be helpful to some of the others who have a similar issue as mine......

now just have to contend with the fact that I have to use the lowest settings..... which pretty much look like a 1980s atari game at best :(

Use to run at 65-70 FPS before update...

Without hi res on, and absolutely nothing running in background im running 10-12 FPS. Not playable anymore.

Non of my stick mappings are there either.

What happens when you set your Windows resolution to 1440x900? Or did you try that?

HTC just had to of released the patch during summer vacation... on a day and time when the parents/adults aren't around to show the kids at home how to properly use their computers...

I'm just saying, the REAL problems with the patch probabley won't clearly surface until later, when the boys go to bed and the men can get their hands on it.

(just ignore my "stuck at work, wishing I was at home for patch-day" rant)

same here,I don't know what happened,not sure if it's using my onboard card instead of external card or what

Hmmm... weird. Exact opposite deal for me. Update installed just fine, and framerate is up considerably over previous version, and my detail and detail range are way up where with the old version I had them set pretty low just to get a framerate that varied between 9 on the low side up to 25 or 30 most of the time. New version is running consistently in the 35-50 range. I didn't have the hi-res pack on the old version, and still don't have it now. I'm sure that would kill my fr.

are you an XP user? it seems to be affecting only users of the communist conspiracy they call VisDUH  :)

Negative (although I wish I still had XP)

Vista Home premium. Athough I am running GameBooster to close all unnecessary crap running in background. If I only had enough processor power and ram to run the hi-res pack, and a decent video card for that matter.  :frown:

OK....... That got the game running. Frame rates good as before.  :)

But now...... My joystick setups and head positions are not saving. I set them up, all is good & works. I log off and log back on they are gone!  :O I have tried it 3 times now each my joystick setting are gone.  :mad:
