NO SUPPORT FOR WIDE SCREEN WITH NEW REALEASE???
« on: July 28, 2009, 10:06:47 PM »
I cannot run at 1680x1050 as the text is all blurry for Frame rate on top and when squad or other key up mic on upper right screen, its all blurry. My cockpit instruments are smushed together a tad, making it hard to read the cockpit instruments.  Why did you all take the widescreen option out of video settings?  I have a Hanns-G 22 In Wide Screen LCD.

HELP!

Hanns-G 19 here and i looks just fine. The game selects the highest resolution you can handle automagically for you. Check to see what res it is set at.

My Hanns-G 22 is a wide screen. Having to play the game in 1280x1024. Instrument panel in cockpit is still fuzzy but readable. There has to be a way to set to widescreen mode by manually editing some file. I would hope.

This is what I did.
I installed the patch after autodownloaded. I installed the new hi-res package. went to video settings. Which was set to 1680x1050 AA off.
My desktop settings are 1680x1050 at 60hz refresh rate.
Text is all blurry, cockpit control panel is readable but looks like it is more narrow, smushed up. I use to use the widescreen mode and got great graphics with hi-res and 1024 textures.

I know can play with text very blurry and cockpit controls a little blurry at 1280x1024 with 512 textures.

The game needs to allow an adjustment for wide screen. This new version is not ready. Please take it back!

I'm running 1920x1080 on a 42" monitor. Everything looks good here.

You must be doing it wrong.

Running 1680x1050 all is fine. Sounds like a "you" issue

i believe the new patch has all available resolutions that your monitor supports.

The old way was to open up the video8 file in notepad located in the settings folder?    and change the resolution then save it.  (not sure whether this will still work with new patch)

i have a 22" asus running 1680 x 1050,  1024 hi res pack everything looks normal.

The game automatically adjusts to widescreen modes now, based on the resolution you select.

Need to see a DXDIAG output.  Would one of you who are not having an issues with blurring also post up the top part of a DXDIAG output.  Just need the CPU and video card information.

Also, if you force anistropic filtering on it could cause the blurring issue.

I may try a higher refresh rate. Is your 22inch a LCD? Mine is. The default refresh rate is 60hz for my ATI HD 3870 Video card. It has 512mb of DDR3 memory and is not overclocked. I am using the latest drives from ATI and the Catalist Control Center with AA and AF letting the application choose the setting.

I am not in front of my gaming PC and will post a dxdiag report later tonight.

I have not tried the 1440x900 resolution, but all other games run fine with my desktop settings and game settings at 1680x1050x60hz. I do have to run the game in 98 compatability mode. If not, I get flickering and a rotating clipboard, the graphics are all messed up, even with the prior version. Why would I have to run the game in 98 mode to stop these visual problems?

I know I will be thrilled when someone can provide some advice that will get my settings right for the best performance and best graphics. So, please offer ANY suggestions.
