New Terrain Makes GV Spotting Easier
« on: July 29, 2009, 09:26:36 AM »
The name of this topic kinda says it all.  I can pick out GV's from the air MUCH easier than I could when they were rolling across grasslands and farms.  They stick out like a sore thumb in the sand now.  In fact... all the ground targets (field ack especially) shows up better.

A big thank you to HTC from the attack drivers!!!   :aok

I noticed the same thing. Haven't had a chance to actually spot any vehicles yet, but noticed the new terrain should give a better view.

Easier to see from the air but harder to see from the ground IMO, very cool.

Yeah, that was the first thing I noticed when I took off over the new map... I think they were seeking the North Africa look.. Tunisia maybe, they pulled it off very well...
Looks good, but the poor GV'ers are in for a REALLY hard time... It was pretty easy before, but its like shootin fish in a barrel now... NOWHERE to hide, well almost nowhere..
And can see the little specks movin a LONG way away... No Icons needed!!!  I hope all the terrains aren't that way!!!

I was fine with it the way it used to be.

Am I the only one who thinks it's silly that you can't hide a tank in the trees?

No, I agree with ya Anax... There need to be some terrains or maps, that have tree canopies, so GV's can completely HIDE from marauding eggers and IL/tutu's..
No Sane Tanker would park his vehicle in the open, with not even a cammo net... If there were trees/forests, tanks were invisible under them...
Besides, I think the cat/mouse routine would be fun stuff...

yeah, the TANKTOWN island needs trees so we can TANK! It's about impossible to shoot gvs too,the trees make it to where you can see but not shoot. And the mini-bushes have GOT to go,you think you can drive through them and FLIP,you're stuck, lol

Which is basically how it SHOULD be, especially for vehicles moving in the open.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.
