Not sure if this has been discussed yet but would like to see all ack to be auto and man-able. Just a thought.

Could you be abit more specific as to why you'd like that?

- How would you like it to be implemented
- How would it affect gameplay
- Can you think of any problems that would occur, by implementing your wish

I'm not too excited at this moment.

I could see a couple of acks in the town be mannable.  They would be tough to defend due to town buildings in the way.

Ok ok walk with me I'll go real slow . If the gun is not destroyed, that mean it still works and nobody is manning it that means it's empty. If infact said gun is empty it would be in auto but if some mook wanted to he or she could jump in it if so inclined. As for problems the only one I see is this new set-up HFS wat dell hell happened. I know Htc won't do like our current Executive Branch and leave us hangin' like rugs on a line <S>  :rockAHII members and facaulty cept for the thin skinned mods :P.

I for one would like to see some mannable 88mm AA. you could swap to HE shells for artty if base is under attack. Would function simmilarly to the 5in gun on ships.

Could you walk me through it in English please?

A dead manned gun is no better than a dead auto gun.

Everyone wants an 88.  Wouldn't the minimum effective AAA range of an 88 be around 10-12k?  You may get off one shot before everyone is on the deck.  And, as someone posted in an old "I want an 88" thread, they used fused shells that exploded based on time, not proximity.

Good luck hitting anything.

true but with the development of radar they soon came out with a fuse that detonated when the mini radar in the shell was close enough to bombers that were attacking. often the mini-radars range was only within the kill radius of the shell(that mini radar was linkd with ground radar to assist in tracking and aiming the guns). plz excuse my denotations of wat u post a i obviously watch to much military channel. :)

The Germans.... On 88's....?  OK.....

I believe you are thinking of what is modeled now with CV group 5" guns or Strat AAA.  Did 88's ever have proximity fuses?  I always understood that they fired in a box where they thought the bomber formations were going to be using optical range finders.

There was some early way german proximity fuse work. Towards the end they had working prototypes.

Im not sure of the details. But to the best of my memory none were ever used in combat on their side.

See, if we get high callibur AA around bases then we will totally own those buffs. And we can shell those damn tigers. You know what, lets add an AP round and have them mostly around the edges of bases and towns with the small stuff in the town it's self.
